Our Parish, St George Malankara Orthodox Church has formally established by His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Metropolitan of the Northeast American Diocese. First service was conducted on November 3rd 2013. Please come and join as we worship in our new parish
St. George Malankara Orthodox Church was established on November 2013. We are a part of the Northeast American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. The Malankara (Indian) Orthodox Churches are the descendants of St. Thomas, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ, who established Christianity in India. We are the first Malankara Orthodox church in the Philadelphia region dedicated in the name of St George and we worship the Almighty God in the traditions and practices of the Malankara Orthodox beliefs.
Rev. Fr. Abu Varghese Peter was appointed as the Vicar by the Diocesan Metropolitan, His Grace Dr. Zacharia Mar Nicholovos. On November 3rd 2013, we celebrated our first Holy Qurbana led by Rev. Fr M. K. Kuriakose with the blessings of the Metropolitan. Our Parish was consecrated by the Diocesan Metropolitan on May 30th & 31st of year 2014.
