Horeb MTC is a newly formed church in 2012, here in Orange County, California. All of us were former members of Mar Thoma Church of Los Angeles, however, many who live here in Orange County or in Southern L.A. had a desire to form a separate parish with in our region. Through prayer and by God’s grace we have started to worship in Garden Grove with about 55 families.
Our Congregation is part of the world wide Mar Thoma Church whose origin is in Kerala, India. Our church belongs to the North America and U.K. diocese of the global Mar Thoma Church.
he Diocese of North America and Europe was first formed as a Zonal Council in 1982 and then as a diocese in 1988. The diocese holds in its fold 66 parishes and 13 congregation. The diocese is now being served by a resident bishop, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa and 70 clergymen, including retired.
