ST. GREGORIOS ORTHODOX SYRIAN CHURCH, Tarapur (Boisar) St. Gregorios Orthodox Syrian Church was established in the year 1986, His Grace Philiphose Mar Theophilus visited Tarapur and offered Holy Qurbana. Tarapur congregation was later declared as a parish in the blessed name of St. Gregorious of Parumala. Rev. Fr Lazarus OIC was appointed as the first Vicar and permission granted to have Holy Qurbana once in a month. In 1995, His Grace Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, the then Assistant Metropolitan of Mumbai Diocese visited the Parish and permitted them to conduct one more Holy Qurbana on Friday evenings once in a month for the benefit of members working in MIDC areas. The prayer hall is common to other Christian congregations of Tarapur. The services are conducted on the basis of time and space sharing of the prayer hall. There is good co-operation and understanding among these congregations. In 1992, the prayer hall was renovated, the major role where played by Mr P K John, Mr. M I Cherian and Dr Jose Panakkal for the renovation of the church. Over past few years we are planning to build a separate Parish. Since the current parish is situated in TAPS a government facility outlay, where there are restrictions for outsiders. A 700 sq. ft. land at Mann, Boisar was purchased in 2012. The process of fundraising for building the church is in progress. In St. Gregorios MOSC, By the Grace of God, we hold a stregth around 24 families in and aroud Boisar
