Christ The King Church Borivali

As word spread and as more catholic families moved into the rapidly developing area of Borivali (E), more people began to attend the Sunday Mass and soon the congregation that collected could not be accommodated in the small cottage. Several attempts were made to organize the people and to form an association to collect contributions from these families.

These contributions were to be used specifically, to purchase a plot of land for a church edifice. Around the same time, the Gracias family moved into their new bungalow ‘Crystal House’ in Odhav Nagar, Borivali (E). Fr. Joe Dias, who knew the family, requested them to hold the Sunday Mass celebration in their home, to which they graciously agreed. Crystal House soon became the focal point of all church activities.
