1957 onwards Rev. Fr.T.E. Issac who was stationed in Goa used to visit Belgaum frequently and organize prayer meetings for the benefit of the members of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church members who were staying in this part of North Karnataka which is at the southern most part of the Diocese of Bombay. In the year 198, Belgaum got the status of a Congregation with Rev. T E Issac as the first Vicar and Holy Qurbana was being celebrated once a month at the St. Xavier's Catholic Church. About 20 families were attending the services regularly, However, a suitable piece of land was purchased on June 23, 1993. Diocesan Metropolitan H G. Philipose Mar Theophilus laid the foundation stone of the church building on September 26, 1996. H. G. Geevarghese Mar Coorilose Metropolitan consecrated the church on October 16, 2000. Rev. Fr. T. U. Thomas. Rev. Fr Geevarghese Kadavil, Rev. Fr. Philipose Mathew and Rev. Fr. Sam Ommen, Rev Fr. Siby Babu have served Belgaum as Vicars. Rev Fr Bijo Rajan is the present Vicar of Bombay Diocese.
