In the year 1975, Holy Communion service used to be held at the residence of late Dr T A Mammen, C-12, Vivek Vihar and Rev. N M Cherian conducted the services. After a year or so, this arrangement was discontinued. In January 1988, Rev Kurian Thomas, then Vicar of Karol Bagh Mar Thoma church restarted the Holy Communion service. It used to be held at the residence of late P M Stephen, B-4/F-1, Dilshad Garden in the evenings of every third sunday of each month.

During the period 18 October 1992 to December 1992, the Holy communion service was held at C-44/X-4, Dilshad Garden which was the property of the Roman Catholic Church. After Rev. Kurian Thomas was transferred, Rev T P Koshy, Vicar of Karol Bagh Mar Thoma Church continued to conduct the Holy Communion service.

On 24th November, 1992, a few members of the East Delhi prayer group met at the residence of Mr M M Samuel, 22-Hargovind Enclave. The meeting was presided over by the then Diocesan Bishop Rt Rev Gee Varghese Mar Athaneseus. During this meeting, a request was put forward to Thirumeni for a new parish since the membership of the Mar Thoma members was around 140 in East Delhi area. An application to this effect was submitted to Thirumeni on 7th December, 1992.

From 19th January 1993, we started regular worship services on every Sunday at Lovely Public Scol, Laxmi Nagar. The Episcopal synod of the Mar Thoma church approved our request for a new parish and the kalpana to this effect was sent and thus the St Peter's Mar Thoma church into existence with effect from 1st April 1993. Rev. Skaria Varghese, vicar of Karol Bagh Mar Thoma church was given additional charge of our church. In 1996, DDA allotted land for our church.
