Anapar thy, initially a sub-station of Rajahmundry and subsequently of Mandapeta parish, was made a parish in the year 1982. Fr. George Nellikunnel stands as the first Parish Priest of the Parish. The construction of the presbytery and the church were completed by Fr. Manianghatt in 1992.The Infant Jesus grotto was also constructed by him as his sacerdotal Jubilee memorial in 1992 from then on, the feast of infant Jesus is celebrated every year on the 1st Thursday of February as the parish feast.
The sincere effor ts of the priests made it a piligrim place. Now we find people from East and West Godavari districts make their piligrimage to this place especially on Thursdays. The parish is marching towards a very good spiritual development.
