Canberra Pentecostal Church has its birth in the mind of few believers who wished to have a Christian prayer fellowship among the Malayalee residents of Canberra. Their earnest prayers and fervent faith and trust in the promises of God were finally answered so graciously and the first service of Canberra Pentecostal Church was graced to be conducted at the Tamil Seniors Association Hall at Issacs, Canberra on 25th April 2010.
Kerala was one of the first states, if not the first, in India to encounter a Pentecostal revival in the early 20th century. As such Keralites have been heavily instrumental in carrying the gospel to the rest of the country. Malayalam worship , language spoken by the Keralites, remains a choice medium of worship and close to the heart of Malayalee.
Malayalam ministry is the founding and currently the core hub of CPC, although it is not something we want to limit ourselves too.
Understanding the need of prayer and fellowship, a church was founded by brothers of Pentecostal faith that initially congregated at homes in Canberra the capital city of The Australia. The fellowship grew in number within a short period of time that led the congregation to hire rented places for worship. Therefore, after considering the scope of ministry and mission the fellowship was converted to a formal church named “Canberra Pentecostal Church ”
Objectives of CPC are to reach and lead the unsaved to the saving grace, love, light and knowledge of Jesus Christ. This church is grounded on the infallible, inerrant and authoritative word of God. God lavished His grace and power upon this church to grow spiritually and numerically (1 Corinthians 3:7). From time to time many experienced salvation and were added to the church of God. Now, by His grace we have a multi-ethnic and multi-lingual group of believers worshiping God in truth and in spirit and serving Him in the beauty of His holiness, in love and in unity. Since the beginning of the fellowship God has been faithful to us. It is our joy to state that God is enabling us to reach and pray for many with His gospel. It is our earnest prayer and desire that God would use this church for His Glory and for the extension of His kingdom in the nation of Australia and the rest of the world.
