St. Mary's Orthodox Syrian Church , Aurangabad

Aurangabad St. Mary's Orthodox Church St.Marys Orthodox Syrian Church, Aurangabad, is a Parish of Malankara Church, under Diocese of Bombay since 1966. This Parish is having 44 families, at present, and having three Sunday services. It was during 1966, some of the Malayalee Christians of Cantonment area formed a prayer fellowship. Rev.Fr.Moothedom Cor Episscopa celebrated the first Orthodox Malayalam Holy Qurbana at Holy Trinity Church on 1968. Orthodox and Marthoma Christians jointly purchased a plot in Nandanvan Colony and built a small Church there and formed “Malayalee Christian Congregation Community Centre”. His Grace Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, Diocesan Metropolitan of Bombay of the Orthodox Church, consecrated the Church on 2nd October 1991 The Orthodox Community purchased a plot at Padegaon, under the leadership of Rev.Fr. Joji George and the construction of the Church was completed under the leadership of the Rev. Fr. Shaji Chacko. Very. Rev. Fr. K.I Philip Ramban, laid the foundation stone on 6th February 2005. His Grace Geevarghese Mar Coorilos Metropolitan, consecrated the new Church On 11th and 12th November 2005. The Parsonage was consecrated on 17th January 2008. Rev. Fr. M.B George, Rev.Fr. Mathew Mathew, Rev.Fr. Joji George, Fr. Shaji Chacko Rev.Fr. Dr. Geevarghese Iype, Rev. Fr. Joshy P. Jacob and Rev. Fr. Thomas Philipose, Fr John Mathew and Rev Fr.Thomaskutty C has served as the vicars of this Parish. Fr. Jubin Thomas is now serving as the vicar. (updated as recd from Vicar)
